Ireland’s national TV station will stop its traditional daily Angelus after 50 years
Catholicherald.co.uk reports: RTÉ television is to replace the Angelus after 53 years, replacing it with videos which it says will “reflect people of all faiths and none”. The Angelus is broadcast daily on RTÉ television at 12pm and at 6pm. It traditionally offers a silent image of the Virgin Mary to allow viewers the time to pray, followed by tolling bells. A new set of short films will aim to be “conducive to prayer or reflection for people of all faiths and none”, according to the broadcaster... MHFM Comment: That's revealing.
