The Astounding Heresy in
Benedict XVI’s 1998 Book Milestones
By Bro. Peter Dimond, O.S.B.
*This
is from my continuing study of Benedict XVI’s books. For those who don’t know, Benedict XVI is
Joseph Ratzinger.
Milestones by “Cardinal” Joseph
Ratzinger, 1998 (Ignatius Press)
BENEDICT XVI SAYS THAT
SCRIPTURE IS OPEN TO JUDAISM (THE REJECTION OF CHRIST) AS WELL AS CHRISTIANITY
(THE ACCEPTANCE OF HIM); BOTH ALSO HAVE A MISSION
“Cardinal” Joseph Ratzinger, Milestones, 1998,
pp. 53-54: “I have ever more come to the
realization that Judaism (which, strictly speaking, begins the end of
the formation of the canon, that is, in the first century after Christ) and
the Christian faith described in the New Testament are two ways of
appropriating Israel’s Scriptures, two ways that, in the end, are both
determined by the position one assumes with regard to the figure of Jesus of
Nazereth. The Scripture we today
call Old Testament is in itself open to both ways. For
the most part, only after the Second World War did we begin to understand that
the Jewish interpretation, too, in the time ‘after Christ’, of course possesses
a theological mission of its own.”
This is
astounding apostasy. He says that
Judaism – and specifically its rejection of Jesus of Nazereth as the Messiah –
is a legitimate appropriation of Scripture.
This means that Jesus Christ may not be the Messiah, since Judaism
(which rejects Him) is a legitimate way of appropriating the Old Testament. This means that the Old Testament doesn’t
necessarily prophesy Our Lord as the Messiah, which he also tells us in his
book God and the World (see
below). It also means that Judaism may
be the true religion, since Scipture itself, according to Benedict XVI, is
“open” to its rejection of Jesus Christ.
This is a total rejection of Jesus Christ as the Messiah!
Benedict XVI
also says that Judaism, a false religion which rejects the true God and Jesus
Christ, has a theological mission.
This is a total rejection of the Christian Faith. It is arguably Benedict XVI’s worst heresy.
Jesus
Christ, John 5:39, 45-47 – “Search
the scriptures, for you think in them to have life everlasting; and the same
are they that give testimony of me…Do not think that I will accuse you
before the Father: the one who will
accuse you is Moses, in whom you have placed your hope. For if you had believed
Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me. But if you do not believe his writings, how
will you believe my words?"
Benedict XVI
taught the same astounding heresy in slightly different words in his book God and the World.
“Cardinal”
Joseph Ratzinger, God and the World,
2000, p. 209: “It is of course
possible to read the Old Testament so that it is not directed toward Christ; it
does not point quite unequivocally to Christ. And if Jews cannot see the promises as being
fulfilled in him, this is not just ill will on their part, but genuinely
because of the obscurity of the texts and the tension in the relationship
between these texts and the figure of Jesus.
Jesus brings a new meaning to these texts – yet it is he who first gives
them their proper coherence and relevance and significance. There are perfectly good reasons, then,
for denying that the Old Testament refers to Christ and for saying, No, that is
not what he said. And there are also
good reasons for referring it to him – that is what the dispute between Jews
and Christians is about.”
I think it is
worthy of note that in Milestones, in
which Benedict XVI denies the entire Christian Faith, he makes some very
conservative statements on the Latin Mass.
People love to quote those conservative lines from the book, while they
remain oblivious to the total apostasy contained in the same book. Benedict XVI is a phony apostate. He doesn’t even believe in Jesus Christ, while
he deceives with conservative lines.
This
is why Benedict XVI wrote the preface for the 2001 book The Jewish People and the Holy Scriptures in the Christian Bible, which
teaches that the Jews wait not in vain for the Coming of the Messiah. Anyone who is reading this and still says
that Antipope Benedict XVI is not a heretic denies Jesus Christ and will be
denied by Him before the Father.
Matthew 10:33- “But he that shall deny me
before men, I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.”
John 8:23-24-“And he said to them [the Jews]:
You are from beneath, I am from above.
You are of this world, I am not of this
world. Therefore, I said to you, that
you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he, you shall
die in your sin.”
1 John 2:22 –
“Who is a liar, but he who denieth that Jesus is
the Christ? He is antichrist, who denieth the Father, and the Son.”
Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, Sess. 8, Nov. 22, 1439, ex cathedra: Whoever wishes
to be saved, needs above all to hold the Catholic faith; unless each one
preserves this whole and inviolate, he will without a doubt perish in eternity.– But the Catholic faith is this, that we worship
one God in the Trinity, and the Trinity in unity… Therefore
let him who wishes to be saved, think thus concerning the Trinity.
“But it is necessary for eternal salvation that he faithfully believe
also in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ...the Son of God is God and
man... This is
the Catholic faith; unless each one believes this faithfully and firmly, he
cannot be saved.”
A HERETIC CANNOT BE A
VALID POPE
It is a proven
fact that Ratzinger (now Benedict XVI) is a non-Catholic heretic. The Catholic Church teaches that a heretic
cannot be validly elected Pope, since a heretic is not a member of the Catholic
Church. Ratzinger, who is now Benedict
XVI, is a non-Catholic Antipope whose election was utterly null and void.
Pope
Paul IV, Bull Cum ex Apostolatus Officio,
Feb. 15, 1559: “6. In addition, [by this
Our Constitution, which is to remain valid in perpetuity We enact, determine,
decree and define:-] that if ever at any time it shall appear that any
Bishop, even if he be acting as an Archbishop, Patriarch or Primate; or any
Cardinal of the aforesaid Roman Church, or, as has already been mentioned, any
legate, or even the Roman Pontiff, prior to his promotion or his elevation as
Cardinal or Roman Pontiff, has deviated from the Catholic Faith or fallen into
some heresy:
(i) the promotion or elevation, even if it shall have been uncontested and
by the unanimous assent of all the Cardinals, shall be null, void and worthless;
(ii) it shall not be possible for it to
acquire validity (nor for it to be said that it has thus acquired validity)
through the acceptance of the office, of consecration, of subsequent authority,
nor through possession of administration, nor through the putative enthronement
of a Roman Pontiff, or Veneration, or obedience accorded to such by all, nor
through the lapse of any period of time in the foregoing situation;
(iii) it shall not be held as partially
legitimate in any way…
(vi) those
thus promoted or elevated shall be deprived automatically, and without need for
any further declaration, of all dignity, position, honour, title, authority,
office and power….
10. No one at all, therefore, may infringe this document of our
approbation, re-introduction, sanction, statute and derogation of wills and
decrees, or by rash presumption contradict it. If anyone, however, should presume to attempt this, let him know that
he is destined to incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the blessed Apostles,
Peter and Paul.
Given in Rome at Saint Peter's in the year of the Incarnation of the Lord 1559,
15th February, in the fourth year of our Pontificate.
+ I, Paul, Bishop of the Catholic Church…”
St. Robert
Bellarmine: “A pope who is a manifest
heretic automatically (per se) ceases
to be pope and head, just as he
ceases automatically to be a Christian and a member of the Church. Wherefore, he can be judged and punished by
the Church. This is the teaching of all the ancient Fathers who teach that
manifest heretics immediately lose all jurisdiction.” (De Romano Pontifice, II, 30)
The Catholic
Encyclopedia, “Papal Elections,” 1914, Vol. 11, p. 456: "Of course, the election of a
heretic, schismatic, or female [as Pope] would be null and void."
