Benedict XVI, Address, August 16, 2006: “Finally, I would like to end this meeting of ours with a special remembrance of Frere Roger Schutz the Founder of Taize, who was assassinated on 16 August last year during evening prayer. His witness of faith and ecumenical dialogue was a precious lesson for entire generations of youth.” (L’Osservatore Romano, August 23, 2006, p. 11.)

Here we see Benedict XVI again praising the “witness of faith” – “precious” for young generations – of the Protestant Bro. Roger Schutz, who founded and led a non-Catholic, ecumenical monastery. Remember, Benedict XVI also gave Holy Communion to this heretic Bro. Roger. When Bro. Roger died, Benedict XVI said that he went straight to Heaven.

THE HUGE LIE THAT BRO. ROGER CONVERTED

This heresy of Benedict XVI vis-à-vis Bro. Roger so clearly demonstrated Benedict XVI’s rejection of the Catholic Faith that bad willed defenders of the Vatican II sect have now, in total desperation, attempted to come up with theories to explain it away. They are now saying that Bro. Roger “converted” to the Catholic Faith! If this were true, it would provide a convenient explanation for them (or so they think) to defend Benedict XVI’s damning statements and action. This “theory,” however, has no proof behind it whatsoever (as we will see). Rather, it’s merely a desperate attempt by the defenders of the antipope to defend the indefensible. As is the case with so many other things in this time of apostasy, this attempt to explain away the evil and the heresies of the post-Vatican II sect is laced with deception and distortion.

The theory that Bro. Roger converted has been propounded by Yves Chiron. Chiron is a defender of Benedict XVI against “traditionalist” accusations. His words reveal that he is desperate to defend this action of Benedict XVI against traditionalist attacks. In other words, he has an agenda: to attempt to justify, somehow and someway, this outrageous action of Benedict XVI. One gets the impression that if Chiron really faced up to the reality that Benedict XVI did give Communion to the Protestant and did declare that he went straight to Heaven, it would crush his entire “faith” in the Conciliar Church.

Chiron writes: “And it is bad form to accuse him still today of “having given communion to a Protestant.” (from ALETHEIA Lettre d’informations religieuses VIIe année - n° 95 1er August 2006)

But herein we see another case of spiritual blindness; for even if Benedict XVI had done nothing in Bro. Roger’s regard, we know that the Vatican II sect clearly teaches that non-Catholics, including Protestants, can receive Communion (Vatican II: Orientalium Ecclesiarum #27; New Catechism #1401; New Code of Canon Law, Can. 844.3, etc.) and that Protestant religions are a means of salvation (Vatican II: Unitatis Redintegratio #3). A visible demonstration of that heretical teaching by Benedict XVI isn’t necessary to see that the Vatican II antipopes hold the Catholic Faith to be meaningless and Protestantism to be salvific. There are many statements, joint declarations and actions which prove this.

But the defenders of the Conciliar Church, epitomized by the heretic Chiron, so blind themselves to the true content of Vatican II’s heresies and the true teaching of the Conciliar sect, that they only get irked when a public action in this regard grabs the attention of the world. Simply put, they care only about externals and public impressions, not about the true content and substance of the matter. They are prime examples of people who are not of the truth.

I will now quickly give the facts which totally refute Chiron’s theory. Chiron says that, in 1972, Bro. Roger converted at a meeting with the Bishop of Autun. Bro. Roger then supposedly kept his “conversion” secret (how convenient) for 33 years while presiding over a non-Catholic monastery. This “conversion” wasn’t then “discovered” until the incident of Benedict XVI giving him Communion (how convenient!). First, Chiron’s claim that Bro. Roger converted at a meeting in 1972 is directly refuted by Bro. Roger’s successor as head of the Taize community, Bro. Alois. Bro. Alois denies any conversion, and states:

“It is easy to interpret it wrongly," Br Alois told La Croix. "To speak of 'conversion' in this regard is to fail to understand the originality of what Br Roger was looking for… Br Alois said that the Bishop of the time, Mgr Armand Le Bourgeois, "simply gave him communion for the first time without asking any more from him than the Credo recited during the Eucharist and which is common to all Christians." "Several witnesses were present, three of my confreres, a married couple, and they can all confirm this," he added.” (http://cathnews.com/news/609/37.php)

Did you get that? Numerous witnesses can confirm that Bro. Roger did not convert to the Catholic Faith at this meeting in 1972, but simply recited the Nicene-Constantinople Creed (which many Protestants recite) and was given Communion! This action of Bro. Roger reciting the Nicene-Constantinople Creed (something that happens in countless Protestant and schismatic churches each week) has been turned into the outrageous lie that Bro. Roger converted to the Catholic Faith!

This deception has occurred in order to attempt to justify the public heresy of Antipope Benedict XVI. Can we not see how the Devil works with lies and distortions, in order to justify evil and keep people in the Conciliar Counter-Church? He uses his bad willed tool, Yves Chiron – as well as the false traditionalist publication, The Remnant, which blindly carried and promoted his false claim and is now slightly backing off the issue in a new article which appeared one day after we mentioned these points on our radio program – to give people who won’t dig more deeply the false impression that “oh… everything is actually okay… Bro. Roger did convert”! This is how the Devil works; it’s how souls remain deceived and remain on the path to damnation in a phony Church with a phony Mass. Yves Chiron, as well as the publications which promoted his false and dishonest claims, deserves our contempt for attempting to justify the most pernicious heretics in the world. They dishonestly attempt to put a mask on the face of the snake when the snake publicly reveals itself for what it is by its actions.

Second, the lie that Bro. Roger converted is also refuted by the Vatican. After Bro. Roger received Communion from Benedict XVI, criticism of the action was swirling. If Bro. Roger had converted, that would have provided a great explanation of Benedict XVI’s action; but the Vatican didn’t use it because Bro. Roger hadn’t converted. No, the Vatican declared that it was a “mistake” that Bro. Roger received Communion, not that he had converted. This point further destroys the claim that Bro. Roger converted to the Catholic Faith and that this was the reason that Benedict XVI gave him Communion. All parties now publicly admit that Bro. Roger Schutz never abjured Protestantism.

The lie that the Protestant ecumenist Bro. Roger “converted” to the Catholic Faith has been refuted. Bro. Roger simply recited the Nicene–Constantinople Creed (which many Protestants recite) and continued to practice his heretical version of “Christianity,” which was a mix of Protestant and other ideas all wrapped up into one heretical idea of the communion of “Christianity” at his ecumenical monastery in Taize.

But even though we can clearly refute the lie that Bro Roger converted, the damage has been done by the Devil and his dupes. Many of those who read the original article by Chiron, which was irresponsibly promoted by a false traditionalist publication, have been misled and, as a result, possibly swayed back to the clutches of the manifestly heretical antipope. (This was surely why the false traditionalist publication carried it.) The Devil continues in his ceaseless spiritual war to keep people deceived by distortions and lies, and he uses his tools – the defenders of the Conciliar Church and the false traditionalists – to wage it.
