Benedict XVI states that he has “esteem for the United Nations”

Benedict XVI, Address at the UN, to the representatives of the Member Nations, April 18, 2008: “The United Nations embodies the aspiration for a greater degree of international ordering… through binding international rules and through harmonizing the day-to-day unfolding of the lives of peoples… If States are unable to guarantee such protection, the international community must intervene with the juridical means provided in the United Nations Charter and in other international instruments… The activity of the United Nations in recent years has ensured that public debate gives space to viewpoints inspired by a religious vision in all its dimensions, including ritual, worship, education, dissemination of information, and the freedom to profess and choose religion.  It is inconceivable, then, that believers should have to suppress a part of themselves – their faith – in order to be active citizens.  It should never be necessary to deny God in order to enjoy one’s rights… The full guarantee of religious liberty cannot be limited to the free exercise of worship, but has to give due consideration to the public dimension of religion, and hence, to the possibility of believers playing their part in building the social order… My presence at this Assembly is a sign of esteem for the United Nations, and it is intended to express the hope that the Organization will increasingly serve as a sign of unity between States and an instrument of service to the entire human family… That is why the Church is happy to be associated with the activity of this distinguished Organization, charged with the responsibility of promoting peace and good will throughout the earth.  Dear friends, I thank you for this opportunity to address you today, and I promise you of the support of my prayers as you pursue your noble task. ”[i]

First, Benedict XVI appears to be promoting a New World Order under the UN established “through binding international rules.”  Second, he promotes the heretical idea that people should be able to choose any religion and promote that false religion publicly in all ways.  Third, he basically states that if members of false religions are deprived of their right to publicly propagate their false religion it would be to “deny God.”  This means that Benedict views the practice of false religions as worshipping the true God.  Fourth, he again promotes the heresy of religious liberty.  Fifth, he says that he has “esteem for the United Nations.”  This is also heresy because the UN is officially involved in promoting sex education; it actively distributes condoms and other contraceptive devices for men and women.  This means that Benedict XVI esteems sex education and contraception.  Sixth, he says that the Church is associated with the activity of the UN, and that the UN’s task is “noble.”  See the links below from the UN’s official website and from others on how the UN actively promotes population control, contraception, etc.

“… UNICEF has increasingly pushed controversial sex education among children, population control and abortion programs that risk alienating beneficiaries in developing Christian, Muslim and traditional societies.  This trend was codified in the 1998 declaration in Geneva of a partnership of the Children's Fund, World Health Organization and UN Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA). That partnership -- the Co-ordinating Committee on Health -- aligned UNICEF with UNFPA's major partner agency, International Planned Parenthood, which ranks second only to the Chinese government in the volume of abortions it provides.” (See http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2002/oct/021030a.html)

“… the PRI says that through a September investigation in China at the family planning facilities, the UNFPA sat back and watched its Chinese counterparts enforce the very situations it claims to avoid.

"We located the family planning offices, and in that family planning office, we located the UNFPA office, and we confirmed from family planning officials there that there is no distinction between what the UNFPA does and what the Chinese Family Planning Office does," said Scott Weinberg, spokesman for PRI.”(See http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2001/10/18/204424.shtml)

The UN gave China its first UN Population Award in 1983 "for the most outstanding contribution to the awareness of population questions."  In 1983, the Beijing Review reported China's family planning minister as saying that his award was "a symbol of UN support and encouragement for China's family planning program."

Nor does the UNFPA's support go unnoticed by those whose rights are violated.  Renowned Chinese dissident Wei Jingsheng testified on this before Congress on February 3, 1998.

“… the Chinese people have a very serious view of all U.N. activities in China in the field of population control. ... When the United Nations gave the Chinese government population control award, the Chinese people were flabbergasted. They were asking, is the U.N. on the side of the Chinese government? And so the Chinese people have a very negative image of the U.N. organization in this field.” (See http://www.nrlc.org/news/1999/NRL399/chris.htm)

An example of how the UN supports abortion: http://www.zenit.org/article-21020?l=english

The UN  Population Fund (UNFPA) is actively involved in supporting and actively distributing condoms and other contraceptive devices. (See http://www.unfpa.org/hiv/programming.htm)

“In an effort to fight these meaningless deaths, UNFPA, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Federation of the Red Cross in 1996 looked at the reproductive health needs of refugees from Rwanda, Burundi and Zaire in the Great Lakes regions of Central Africa. As a result, about 220,000 displaced women of child-bearing age received a package of reproductive health care services together with other emergency supplies.” (See http://www.un.org/geninfo/faq/factsheets/FS6.HTM)

“In mid-April of 1999, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) announced emergency shipments of reproductive health services to Kosovar refugees. …The list of reproductive health supplies sent to 350,000 Kosovar refugees included an oral contraception kit, a sexually transmitted disease kit, intrauterine devices (IUDs), a "complications from abortions" kit, and condoms. The kits also contained emergency contraception pills that prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus.  Critics charge that UNFPA promotes abortion in refugee camps, which are among the most unsanitary and dangerous places on earth. "It is outrageous that they are not providing basic health services for these people," said Jeanne Head, chief UN lobbyist for International Right to Life Federation. "Basic things, like clean water. UNFPA seems to be obsessed with preventing people from having children.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Population_Fund)

Benedict XVI baptizes another woman in a questionably valid way

Traditional practice is that the baptismal water must hit the skin of the forehead.  Benedict XVI’s “baptisms” seem to never hit the skin, only the hair.

This is a photo of another "baptism" (the one he performed on the former Muslim), in which we see the same thing:

Benedict XVI calls schismatic leader a “devoted Pastor” and calls the new schismatic leader “Archbishop of Greece” and prays “for his fruitful ministry”

Benedict XVI, Address to the new Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, March 15, 2008: “... an exchange of visits from Orthodox and Catholic delegations to and from Rome and Athens.  In 2006, I was happy to receive your President here at the Vatican, and I was graced by a visit from His Beatitude Christodoulos, whose recent death Christians in your Country and throughout the world continue to mourn.  I pray that the Lord will grant this devoted Pastor rest from his labors and bless him for his valiant efforts to mend the breach between Christians in the East and West.

“I avail myself of this occasion to extend to the new Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, my sincere fraternal greetings of peace, together with an assurance of my constant prayers for his fruitful ministry and good health...

“In this regard, Your Excellency has highlighted the signs of hope emerging from the ecumenical meetings that have taken place over the past decades.  Not only have these reaffirmed what Catholics and Orthodox already hold in common, but they have also opened the door to deeper discussions about the precise meaning of the Church’s unity... inviting all participants to ongoing conversion and prayer, which alone are able to ensure that Christians will one day attain the unity for which Jesus prayed so fervently.”[ii]

First, Benedict XVI calls the recently deceased “Orthodox” schismatic “this devoted Pastor” - heresy.  Second, he calls the new schismatic leader “the new Archbishop of Athens and All Greece”- heresy.  Third, he assures the new schismatic of his constant prayers “for his fruitful ministry” - heresy.  Fourth, he asks for prayers so that one day all Christians will attain unity – heresy.  Benedict XVI rejects the fact that the unity of Christians already exists with true Catholics.  It’s a constant mark of the one true Church of Christ.

Antipope Benedict XVI prays with and blesses with “Orthodox” schismatic

L’Osservatore Romano, March 12, 2008, p. 3.

This is forbidden by Catholic teaching.

The Vatican publicizes that the newly elected “Orthodox” schismatic in Athens is the “Archbishop” of Athens and all of Greece

L’Osservatore Romano, Feb. 27, 2008, p. 12.

This shows us again that the Vatican II sect under Benedict XVI not only thinks that the “Orthodox” schismatics are in the Church, but that the “Orthodox” leaders are authorities in the Church.  This is heretical.

Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum (#15), June 29, 1896 – Bishops Separated from Peter and his Successors Lose All Jurisdiction: “From this it must be clearly understood that Bishops are deprived of the right and power of ruling, if they deliberately secede from Peter and his successors; because, by this secession, they are separated from the foundation on which the whole edifice must rest.  They are therefore outside the edifice itself; and for this very reason they are separated from the fold, whose leader is the Chief Pastor; they are exiled from that Kingdom, the keys of which were given by Christ to Peter alone… No one, therefore, unless in communion with Peter can share in his authority, since it is absurd to imagine that he who is outside can command in the Church.”

Benedict XVI praises the UN and interreligious dialogue; he states that people who are committed to false religious creeds are of good will

Benedict XVI, Address to the new Ambassador of the United States, February 29, 2008: “Your Nation’s example of uniting people of good will, regardless of race, nationality or creed, in a shared vision and a disciplined pursuit of the common good has encouraged many younger nations in their efforts to create a harmonious, free and just social order.  Today, this task of reconciling unity and diversity, of forging a common vision and summoning the moral energy to accomplish it, has become an urgent priority for the whole human family...

“... The resolution of these and similar problems calls for trust in, and commitment to, the work of international bodies such as the United Nations Organization, which by their nature are capable of fostering genuine dialogue and understanding, reconciling divergent views, and developing multilateral policies and strategies capable of meeting the manifold challenges of our complex and rapidly changing world.

I cannot fail to note with gratitude the importance which the United States has attributed to interreligious and intercultural dialogue as a positive force for peacekeeping.  The Holy See is convinced of the great spiritual potential represented by such dialogue...”[iii]

First, Benedict XVI first says that there are people embracing false religions that are of “good will” – heresy.  Second, he speaks about reconciling unity and diversity in the context of different creeds.  This is religious indifferentism.  Third, he calls for everyone to “trust” and for “commitment to” the UN – heresy.  The UN promotes abortion, contraception and population control.  Fourth, he describes interreligious dialogue as “positive force for peacekeeping” that has “great spiritual potential” – heresy.

Benedict XVI states that he is grateful to a schismatic non-Catholic Church and promotes the heresy of religious liberty again

Benedict XVI, Address to the Ambassador of Serbia, February 21, 2008:  “... build together a civilization of love in which all are accepted and respected... I rejoice in the progress that has been made in relations between Orthodox and Catholic Christians, and I am especially grateful to the Serbian Orthodox Church...  Serbia’s geographical location on the border between Eastern and Western Christianity gives her a unique opportunity to promote ecumenical dialogue, while her familiarity with Islam, both through her encounter with the Ottoman Empire and through the presence of many Muslims in the region today, opens up rich possibilities for progress in interreligious dialogue... Be assured that the Catholic Church in Serbia is eager to build further on its good relations with the Holy Synod and to play its part in joint initiatives designed to foster Christian unity and a genuine rapprochement between the adherents of different religions, contributing in this way to the building of peace and harmony within and between nations.

“Freedom of religion is an indispensable element in building the kind of society in which such harmony can develop, and the steps taken by Serbia in recent years to guarantee this fundamental human right are greatly appreciated.”[iv]

Benedict XVI first says that he is “especially grateful to the Serbian Orthodox Church.”  This is to say that he is “especially grateful” for the existence of a schismatic non-Catholic sect.  This of course is to promote heresy and schism.  Second, we see that Benedict is again promoting ecumenism, interreligious dialogue and cordial relationships with different false religions.  Third, Benedict XVI speaks of “the Holy” Synod, which is the Synod of the schismatic “Orthodox” Bishops of Serbia.  Finally, Benedict XVI concludes his most recent heretical speech by again promoting the heresy of religious liberty.

Benedict XVI states again that St. Paul’s desire was not so much to baptize all peoples and that we should have respect for different false religions

Benedict XVI, answering questions during a meeting with the Clergy of Rome, February 7, 2008:  [Benedict XVI’s answer to a question from a “priest”] “Let us think of the great figure of Mahatma Gandhi: although he remained firmly bound to his own religion... Let us think of St. Paul... His desire was not so much to baptize all peoples as rather that the Gospel, hence, the fulfillment of history as such, be present in the world... [v]

[Question for Benedict XVI from “Fr” Umberto Fanfarillo] “Holy Father, I am a Conventual Franciscan and parish priest of Saint Dorotea in Trastevere.  Together with the Christian community in the parish, I am eager to point out a conspicuous if not deeply rooted presence of other religious contexts.  We encounter them daily with reciprocal esteem, knowledge and respectful coexistence.  I can list in this substantial positiveness of intentions the commitment of the Academia dei Lincei, of the John Cabot American University, with more than 800 students from about 60 countries and with religious backgrounds that range from Catholic to Muslim.  It is precisely these young people who, on the death of John Paul II, gathered in prayer in our Church... We find a similar situation and respectful encounters among the different religions contained in Regina Coeli Prison, again in the parish territory.  Holy Father, we are all seeking new and more balanced attitudes of knowledge and respect.  We have always appreciated your talks, filled with respect and dialogue, in the quest for the truth.  Please help us again with your words.”

[Benedict XVI’s response to this question] “Thank you for your testimony of a truly multidimensional and multicultural parish.  It seems to me that you have somewhat concretized what was discussed earlier with our Indian brother: the whole picture that consists of dialogue, respectful co-existence, respect for one another, acceptance of one another as they are in their otherness, in their communion... through respect for our differences...”[vi]

Just a few weeks ago the Heresy of the Week was Benedict XVI stating that St. Paul was not concerned about baptizing people.  Benedict XVI stated in his Address to Cardinals, December 21, 2007:

“St. Paul travelled tirelessly, taking the Gospel with him.  He even felt under a sort of ‘compulsion’ to proclaim the Gospel (cf. I Cor 9:16) – not so much out of concern for the salvation of the single non-baptized person who had not yet been reached by the Gospel, but rather because he was aware that history as a whole could not attain fulfillment until the Gospel had reached the full number of Gentiles.”

Well, he utters the same heresy again by saying: “Let us think of St. Paul... His desire was not so much to baptize all peoples.”  I guess Benedict XVI is really trying to stress that St. Paul was not concerned about baptizing people.  We know that St. Paul said that he came to preach the Gospel, but Benedict XVI is trying to give the heretical impression that St. Paul did not believe that men need baptism for salvation.   Benedict XVI then goes on to state that we should respect members of different false religions “in their communion” and in “their otherness” and that we should “respect our differences.”  This is to say that we should respect people who are in false religions which lead them to everlasting damnation.

Benedict XVI praises praying with heretics and states that Catholics have a bond of communion with Lutherans

Benedict XVI, Address to members of the Finnish Ecumenical Delegation, January 18, 2008: “The joint prayer of Lutherans and Catholics from Finland is a humble but faithful sharing in the prayer of Jesus, who promised that every prayer raised to the Father in his name would be heard.  This indeed is the royal door of ecumenism: such prayer leads us to look at the Kingdom of God and the unity of the Church in a fresh way; it reinforces our bonds of communion...”[vii]

Benedict XVI praises praying with non-Catholics.  This rejects the tradition of the Church and endorses heresy.  Benedict XVI then goes on to say that Catholics have a bond of communion with Lutherans, which is heresy.

Benedict XVI Promotes Heresies During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Benedict XVI, Catechesis, January 23, 2008: “In these days, Christians of various Churches and Ecclesial Communities are joining in a unanimous chorus of entreaty to ask the Lord Jesus to re-establish full unity among all his disciples... In asking for the grace of unity Christians join in Christ’s own prayer... The patient journey of the search for full communion between all Christians continued after the Council... Thanks precisely to this spiritual ecumenism – holiness of life, conversion of heart, private and public prayer – the common search for unity has in recent decades recorded considerable development... And this is because, in praying together, Christian communities place themselves before the Lord... Prayer in common is not, therefore, a voluntaristic or purely sociological act, but rather an expression of faith that unites all Christ’s disciples.  In the course of the years, fertile collaboration has been established in this field, and since 1968, the then Secretariat for Christian Unity, which subsequently became the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, and the World Council of Churches prepare jointly these booklets for the Week of Prayer for Unity; they then distribute them throughout the world, covering areas that they never would have managed to reach on their own.” [viii]

Notice that Benedict XVI states that the booklets for the Week of Prayer for Unity are actually prepared by the non-Catholics at the World Council of Churches and Benedict XVI’s Church. The World Council of Churches (WCC) is an international ecumenical organization based in Geneva, Switzerland.  The WCC has a membership of over 340 churches and denominations. [ix]  So Benedict XVI is praising the joint publications made by heretics and his sect.

Benedict XVI, Discourse to members of the Joint Working Group of the World Council of Churches and the “Catholic Church” on the occasion of their visit to the Vatican, January 25, 2008:The World Council of Churches and the Catholic Church have enjoyed a fruitful ecumenical relationship dating back to the time of the Second Vatican Council... On this day, then, we think back with gratitude to the work of so many individuals who over the years have sought to spread the practice of spiritual ecumenism through common prayer...”[x]

Benedict XVI, Homily, January 25, 2008, for the conclusion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: “This evening I cordially greet the Rev. Dr. Samuel Kobia, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, who has come to Rome to join us on the centenary of the Week of Prayer.  I am pleased that members of the ‘Joint Working Group’ are present and I greet them with affection.  The Joint Group is the means of cooperation between the Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches in our common search for unity.” [xi]

The Catholic Church already possesses unity.  The Catholic Church is one, holy, catholic and apostolic.  The oneness or unity of the true Church is one of the four marks of the Church.  Therefore, unity is something that already exists in the Catholic Church.

Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos (# 10), Jan. 6, 1928: “So, Venerable Brethren, it is clear why this Apostolic See has never allowed its subjects to take part in the assemblies of non-Catholics: for the union of Christians can only be promoted by promoting the return to the one true Church of Christ of those who are separated from it…”

But according to the statements above from Benedict XVI, as well as the official teachings of Vatican II, “Christians” are still searching for Christian unity and for the re-establishment of Christian unity.  Such a notion is heretical.

We can also see how Benedict XVI promotes “common prayer” together with Lutherans, other heretics and the World Council of Churches.  Praying in common with heretical sects and non-Catholic religions is a grave sin, but Benedict XVI does it and encourages it all the time.

Pope Pius IX, Neminem vestrum (# 5), Feb. 2, 1854: “We want you to know that those same monks sent Us a splendid profession of Catholic faith and doctrine… They eloquently acknowledged and freely received the regulations and decrees which the popes and the sacred congregations published or would publish – especially those which prohibit communicatio in divinis (communion in holy matters) with schismatics… They acknowledge that they condemn the error of the schismatic Armenians and recognize that they are outside of the Church of Jesus Christ.”

Benedict XVI states that the deceased leader of the schismatic “Orthodox” Church was a distinguished Pastor in the Church, the Archbishop of Greece and a faithful servant of the Lord

Benedict XVI, Telegram to Seraphim, Bishop of the Orthodox Church, on the passing of Schismatic “Orthodox” Bishop H.B. Christodoulos, January 28, 2008: “Deeply saddened by the news of the untimely death of His Beatitude Christodoulos, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, I express to you, to the Holy Synod and all the faithful my earnest condolences, assuring you of my spiritual closeness to all those who mourn the passing of this distinguished Pastor of the Church of Greece... I and Catholics around the world pray the Orthodox Church of Greece will be sustained by the grace of God in continuing to build on the pastoral achievements of the late Archbishop and that in commending the noble soul of His Beatitude to our Heavenly Father’s loving mercy you will be comforted by the Lord’s promise to reward his faithful servants.  Please accept, Your Eminence, this expression of my closeness in prayer to you and your Brother Bishops as you guide the Church in this time of transition.  With fraternal affection in the Lord, Benedictus PP. XVI ”[xii]

This short telegram is jam-packed with heresy.  As some of you know, we have proven before that Benedict XVI has signed joint declarations with “Orthodox” schismatics in which he declares them to be “pastors in the church of Christ.”  In this heretical telegram, Benedict XVI declares that the deceased schismatic Christodoulos was the “Archbishop of Athens and All Greece” (something he has also done before).  Many of you probably may not know that, in the country of Greece, there are bishops who claim to be Catholic and accept Benedict XVI as a valid pope.  But Benedict XVI has declared repeatedly in the past, and does so again here, that the openly schismatic “Orthodox” bishop was the true “Archbishop of Athens and All Greece.  Benedict XVI gives the schismatic the title of jurisdiction by calling him “Archbishop.”  To declare that someone is a true archbishop is to declare that this person is part of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church.  This is, therefore, an outrageous heresy by Benedict XVI.  Even though the “Orthodox” schismatics have validly ordained bishops and priests, they openly deny numerous Catholic dogmas, including papal infallibility.  They are outside the Catholic Church.  The Orthodox Church is just like the Protestant Churches, with the exception that they have some valid sacraments and valid priests.  So to call a schismatic an archbishop and a distinguished pastor of the Church is to be a schismatic.

Benedict XVI then goes on to say that “I and Catholics around the world pray the Orthodox Church of Greece will be sustained by the grace of God in continuing to build on the pastoral achievements of the late [schismatic] Archbishop.  This statement is so heretical that there are almost no words to describe it.  Think deeply about what Benedict XVI is saying.  Benedict XVI declares that he and the other “Catholics” around the world pray that the openly schismatic Church “will be sustained by the grace of God” in continuing to build on the “pastoral achievements” of the late schismatic.  Benedict XVI is therefore saying that all Catholics pray that the schismatic church will continue to promote its schism and be strengthened in schism.  He then declares that the schismatic bishop was a “faithful servant” of the Lord.  He then caps off his amazingly schismatic telegram by stating to the other openly schismatic “Orthodox” bishops: “you guide the Church.”

Benedict XVI states that people should have the right to change their religion, practice false religions and that people should respect false religions

Benedict XVI, Discourse, January 18, 2008: “Moreover, I firmly hope that authentic religious freedom may be effective everywhere and that the right of each individual to practice his or her religion freely, or to change it, may not be hindered.  This is a primordial right of every human being... with respect for those who do not share their own convictions.”[xiii]

Benedict XVI, Address to Ambassador of Kuwait, December 13, 2007: “... I think here with satisfaction of the increasing contacts between Muslims and Christians – is essential for overcoming misunderstandings and forging solid relations marked by mutual respect and co-operation in the pursuit of the common good of the whole human family.  Children in particular need to be educated in the authentic values underlying their own culture and in a spirit of openness to other cultures, respect for others...

“... This fundamental right, [religious freedom] grounded in the inviolable dignity of the person, is fittingly considered the cornerstone of the whole edifice of human rights...

“... Kuwait’s Catholics have sought to contribute to the development of the larger society, not least through their educational institutions.  These, though few in number, are fully committed to forming the minds and hearts of their students in an environment emphasizing sound spiritual values and inculcating respect for the dignity and beliefs of others. [xiv]

First, Benedict XVI states that the “right” to have false beliefs should “be effective everywhere” and that the “right” to freely practice a false religion or change one’s religion “may not be hindered.”  This is heresy.  Second, he goes on to say that we must have respect for those who believe in false religions.

In the second speech, he states that Catholics have “respect” for those who believe in the false religion of Islam.  He then says that children need to be educated in a spirit of respect for those who hold false beliefs.  He then finishes off his heretical speech by stating that Kuwait’s Catholics respect the beliefs of others.  To have respect for people who reject the true God and are the road to eternal damnation, and to respect “beliefs” which contradict the Catholic faith, is to a heretic.

Pope Leo XIII, Custodi di Quella Fede (#15), Dec. 8, 1892: “Every familiarity should be avoided, not only with those impious libertines who openly promote the character of the sect, but also with those who hide under the mask of universal tolerance, respect for all religions...”

Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura (#’s 3-6), Dec. 8, 1864, ex cathedra: “From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster that erroneous opinion, most fatal in its effects on the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our predecessor, Gregory XVI, an insanity, NAMELY, THAT ‘LIBERTY OF CONSCIENCE AND WORSHIP IS EACH MAN’S PERSONAL RIGHT, WHICH OUGHT TO BE LEGALLY PROCLAIMED AND ASSERTED IN EVERY RIGHTLY CONSTITUTED SOCIETY; and that a right resides in the citizens to an absolute liberty, which should be restrained by no authority whether ecclesiastical or civil, WHEREBY THEY MAY BE ABLE OPENLY AND PUBLICLY TO MANIFEST AND DECLARE ANY OF THEIR IDEAS WHATEVER, EITHER BY WORD OF MOUTH, BY THE PRESS, OR IN ANY OTHER WAY.’  But while they rashly affirm this, they do not understand and note that they are preaching liberty of perdition…  Therefore, BY OUR APOSTOLIC AUTHORITY, WE REPROBATE, PROSCRIBE, AND CONDEMN ALL THE SINGULAR AND EVIL OPINIONS AND DOCTRINES SPECIALLY MENTIONED IN THIS LETTER, AND WILL AND COMMAND THAT THEY BE THOROUGHLY HELD BY ALL THE SONS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AS REPROBATED, PROSCRIBED AND CONDEMNED.”

Benedict XVI states that false religions should be valued; that Church teachings evolve; that things adopted by the authorities of the Catholic Church have been shown by history to be false

Benedict XVI, Address to La Sapienza University in Rome, January 17, 2008: “... humanity’s wisdom – the wisdom of the great religious traditions – should be valued as a heritage that cannot be cast with impunity into the dust-bin of the history of ideas.  Let us go back to our initial question.  The Pope speaks as the representative of a community of believers in which a particular wisdom about life has evolved in the course of the centuries of its existence... Various things said by theologians in the course of history, or even adopted in practice by ecclesiastical authorities, have been shown by history to be false, and today make us feel ashamed.”[xv]

First, Benedict XVI states that different false religions’ religious traditions should be valued and “cannot be cast with impunity into the dust-bin of the history of ideas.”  The Catholic Church teaches the opposite of Benedict XVI.  It teaches that false religious traditions should not be valued and should be cast with impunity into the dust-bin of the history of ideas.

Second, he defines the Church as “a community of believers in which a particular wisdom about life evolved in the course of the centuries of its existence.”  The teachings of the Church did not evolve over the centuries, but were delivered by Jesus Christ to St. Peter and the apostles.  The body of Catholic teachings – the essential teachings that must be believed – are the same now as they were at the very beginning of the Church.  Therefore, what Benedict XVI is teaching is simply the modernist heresy of the evolution of doctrine.

Pope St. Pius X, Pascendi Dominic Gregis (# 26), Sept. 8, 1907, On the doctrine of the Modernists:
"To the laws of evolution everything is subject - dogma, Church, worship, the Books we revere as sacred, even faith itself, and the penalty of disobedience is death. The enunciation of this principle will not astonish anybody who bears in mind what the Modernists have had to say about each of these subjects."

Third, he says that things which were “adopted in practice by ecclesiastical authorities [by popes, etc.] have been shown by history to be false, and today make us feel ashamed.”  Benedict XVI doesn’t go on to explain what specific teachings he says “have been shown in history to be false, and today make us feel ashamed.”  Benedict XVI could be talking about any number of defined dogmas of the Church.  Dogmas such as infant baptism being necessary for salvation, which he recently attempted to change, might be included in his statement.  Nevertheless, this speech of Benedict XVI shows us once again that he is a heretic.

Benedict XVI praises Religious Diversity and says differences in belief are marvelous

Benedict XVI, Address to the new ambassador of the Republic of Suriname, December 13, 2007: “Your Excellency has noted the extraordinary ethnic and religious diversity present in your Country.  Differences of origin, custom and belief are marvelous opportunities for people to learn and practice tolerance and sympathy for one another.  Such habits build social cohesion and lay the groundwork for a robust democracy... I am grateful for your assurance of Suriname’s commitment to religious freedom...”[xvi]

First, Benedict XVI praises the “extraordinary religious diversity present in your country.”  To praise someone because his country is home to many different false religions is to be an apostate (or to be Benedict XVI).  Second, he says that “differences of belief are marvelous opportunities for people to learn and practice tolerance.”  It’s “marvelous” because Benedict XVI doesn’t believe at all that it’s necessary to be a Catholic to be saved.  Benedict XVI thinks it’s a neat thing that people belong to different religions and it’s a “marvelous” opportunity to tolerate false religions that lead people to eternal damnation.  He then adds that these attitudes “lay the groundwork for a robust democracy.”  Benedict XVI only cares about building a robust democracy; he could care less what religion people belong to.

Benedict XVI praises both Assisi Prayer Meetings and states that St. Paul was not concerned for the salvation of those who did not hear the Gospel!

Benedict XVI, Address to Cardinals, December 21, 2007: “A disciple of Jesus Christ, the document tells us, must also be a ‘missionary’, a Gospel messenger.  It is here, furthermore, that the objection arises: is it still legitimate today to “evangelize”?  Should not all the world’s religions and conceptions rather coexist peacefully and seek together to do their best for humanity, each in its own way?

“Well, that we must all coexist and cooperate in tolerance and reciprocal respect goes without question.  The Catholic Church is actively committed to this and, with the two meetings in Assisi, has left evident signs of it, signs that we renewed again at this year’s Meeting in Naples.

“On this topic, I would like to mention the kind letter sent to me last 13 October by 138 Muslim religious leaders, testifying to their common commitment to world peace.  I responded joyfully, expressing my convinced adherence to such noble intentions, and at the same time emphasized the urgent need for a binding accord to safeguard the values of reciprocal respect, dialogue and collaboration...

“St. Paul travelled tirelessly, taking the Gospel with him.  He even felt under a sort of ‘compulsion’ to proclaim the Gospel (cf. I Cor 9:16) – not so much out of concern for the salvation of the single non-baptized person who had not yet been reached by the Gospel, but rather because he was aware that history as a whole could not attain fulfillment until the Gospel had reached the full number of Gentiles.” [xvii]

Benedict XVI states that we must have respect for the world’s different religions.  He then goes on to say that “The Catholic Church is actively committed to this…”  It is blatant heresy to state that the Catholic Church must respect false religions.  He also praises the outrageous interreligious prayer meetings at Assisi, Italy.  These meetings included leaders from just about every religion on the planet, including a high priest of Voodoo.  Benedict XVI states that the Assisi meetings are the “evident signs” of how the “Catholic Church” officially views other religions.  The apostate Benedict XVI therefore gives, once again, his wholesale endorsement to apostasy.

Benedict XVI then goes on to utter the incredible heresy that St. Paul’s proclaiming of the Gospel was “not so much out of concern for the salvation of the single non-baptized person who has not been reached by the Gospel, but rather because he was trying to achieve some kind of historical achievement!  He is therefore stating that St. Paul didn’t believe the Gospel was necessary to receive for salvation!  This is outrageous heresy from the apostate Benedict XVI.  It contradicts the defined dogma Outside the Church There is No Salvation.  One could also refute this heresy by quoting St. Paul himself on the necessity of receiving the Gospel for eternal salvation.

St. Paul, 2 Cor. 4:3-4 “And if our Gospel be also hid, it is hid to them that are lost.  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of unbelievers, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them.”

Benedict XVI states that it’s necessary to be enriched by contact with members of false religions and that we should be open and have respect for heretical beliefs

Benedict XVI, Message for 94th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, October 18, 2007: “Then, among the migrants... It is necessary to help them find a way to open up to the dynamism of interculturality and be enriched in their contact with other students of different cultures and religions.” [xviii]

Benedict XVI states here that it’s necessary to be “enriched” by having contact with members of false religions.

Benedict XVI, Address to the Baptist-Catholic Joint International Commission, December 6, 2007: “The theme which you have chosen for this phase of contacts – The Word of God in the Life of the Church: Scripture, Tradition and Koinonia – offers a promising context for the examination of such historically controverted issues as the relationship between Scripture and Tradition, the understanding of Baptism and the sacraments, the place of Mary in the communion of the Church, and the nature of oversight and primacy in the Church’s ministerial structure.  If our hope for reconciliation and greater fellowship between Baptists and Catholics is to be realized, issues such as these need to be faced together, in a spirit of openness, mutual respect... Today, as ever, the world needs our common witness to Christ and to the hope brought by the Gospel... For the lack of unity between Christians ‘openly contradicts the will of Christ’”[xix]

First, he says that we should have “respect” for false beliefs on Church dogmas and should have an “openness” to such heresies.  Second, he states that the world needs to receive the teachings of people who promote false views of Christianity.  Third, he utters the heresy that there is not unity in Christianity.

Benedict XVI promotes a new international order and utters more heresy

Benedict XVI, Address to Spanish Ambassador, October 27, 2007: “It is therefore necessary and urgent to work for the construction of an internal and international order... [xx]

Here Benedict XVI promotes a new international order or a new world order.

Benedict XVI, Message to the world’s Bishops, priests and faithful, August 10, 2007: “I would like to recall the solemn gesture with which my most beloved Predecessor, the Servant of God John Paul II, presented important relics of Sts. John Chrysostom and Gregory of Nazianzus to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in November 2004.  The Pontiff noted how that gesture was for the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches a truly ‘blessed occasion to purify our wounded memories in order to strengthen our journey of reconciliation.’”[xxi]

To give relics of Catholic saints to heretics and schismatics is to be a heretic and a schismatic.

Benedict XVI, Discourse to the heads Address to Ukrainian Bishops, September 24, 2007: “The Church... subsists in the Catholic Church... [xxii]

This is heresy. The Catholic Church is the Church of the Christ.

Benedict XVI, Address to Indonesia Ambassador, November 12, 2007: “Indonesia, as a multireligious country with the largest Muslim population of any nation in the world, plays an important and positive role in promoting interreligious cooperation, both within its borders and in the international community.  Dialogue, respect for the convictions of others and collaboration in the service of peace are the surest means of securing social concord.  These are among the noblest goals which can bring together men and women of good will, and in a particular way, all those who worship the one God...”
